Mood, depression, anxiety, and ADHD

Mood, depression, anxiety, and ADHD

There’s a fascinating connection between the soul and the physical body. When I started waking up at 3 am every morning, it was an early warning sign that my liver was struggling and that I had systemic inflammation.

Emotions are, after all, both electrical and chemical in nature.
And when the liver is congested, when it can’t properly process or remove hormones and neurochemicals, those chemicals recirculate in our bloodstream.

According to Traditional Chinese Medicine's Organ Clock, the liver’s peak time for detoxification and energetic activity is from 1:00 AM to 3:00 AM. If someone is consistently waking during this time, TCM often views it as a signal of liver imbalance or stagnation.

I’ve seen it many times while working with my detox clients and community!

The result? Emotional imbalance, heightened anxiety, or a foggy, unmotivated mind.

Most people are unaware that the liver plays a direct role in determining our thoughts, emotions, and mental focus.

Here are three more ways your liver might be crying for help:

1. You feel moody, anxious, or irritable, especially in the mornings or after meals.

This often happens when the liver struggles to filter out excess cortisol and estrogen, which can throw off your emotional baseline and make you feel “off” for no clear reason.

2. You’re easily overwhelmed, forgetful, or struggling to focus.

A sluggish liver contributes to toxic buildup, which affects brain chemistry and oxygen delivery, leading to attention issues, mental fatigue, and even signs that mimic ADD/ADHD.

3. You crave sugar or caffeine just to feel normal.

When the liver is underperforming, your blood sugar rollercoasters, and your body seeks to restore balance.

The good news? Your body was created to heal. Additionally, your liver is one of the few organs that can regenerate, if given the right support.

Sometimes the most powerful emotional breakthroughs begin with physical detox.

If you haven’t gone through an Apple Detox yet, now is the time!

Remember, you can be your own healer. When you start supporting your body with real, living food, things change!

In the coming weeks, I will be sharing on other parts of the body that regenerate - it’s fascinating and will empower you to understand how BEAUTY and healing work!
