We don’t usually think of acne, eczema, or even backaches and mood swings as signs that the liver needs help. But when we look deeper into the body, especially through the lens of natural healing, it becomes clear: liver health is at the core of glowing skin and overall vitality.
Here’s why…
More than 90% of disease begins with constipation. It’s not just about bloating or weight gain. When the bowels are backed up, toxins that should be eliminated through the intestines begin circulating through the bloodstream. That includes waste from the liver, gallbladder, pancreas, lymph, and even the brain.
When the body can’t eliminate properly, the liver becomes congested and overworked. And when the liver can’t keep up, it offloads toxins through the skin. The result? Acne, eczema, rashes, dullness, and premature aging.
You might be wondering why a skincare company is talking about bowels. But this is exactly why I created The Alchemy Code. Because beauty is a reflection of what’s happening within. And in my practice as a natural healer and herbalist, I always begin with the elimination pathways, especially the bowels and liver.
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, each part of the face is linked to an internal organ. So when firmness fades or skin issues arise, we don’t just treat the surface. We look within.
If your skin has been acting up or you’re feeling off, your liver may be asking for a reset. There are many other signs such as waking up between 1am - 3am every morning, feeling tired, bloated, irritable, and more…
Tomorrow, I’ll be sharing more about how the liver impacts mood, like depression, anxiety, and attention challenges.
But today, let’s start with your reset:
Here’s a simple Liver Support Protocol you can begin right away - if you want to crank it up add in the Apple Juice Fast I mentioned, and start juicing and drinking green smoothies daily:
Here’s a simple Liver Support Protocol you can begin right away - if you want to crank it up add in the Apple Juice Fast I mentioned, and start juicing and drinking green smoothies daily:
1. Lemon water (add a dash of cayenne) first thing in the morning – flushes the liver gently and wakes up digestion.
2. Herbal liver teas – dandelion root, milk thistle, and burdock help detox and regenerate liver cells.
3. Castor oil packs over the liver – reduce inflammation and improve bile flow. Excited to be offering Organic Castor Oil in the coming weeks… stay tuned for that.
4. Bitter greens daily – arugula, dandelion, mustard greens stimulate the liver to release toxins. It’s important to let the bitters rest on your tongue for a few seconds… the purpose is to invigorate salivation and open up the floodgates to digestion and elimination.
5. Eat twice per day at least four days out of the week. One bigger, whole food and living meal in the AM and a smaller meal no later than 5pm.

6. Avoid processed foods, alcohol, and refined sugar – give the liver less work so it can heal.
7. Move your body and sweat – the lymph and liver love movement.
8. Support your skin with non-toxic, breathable skincare akaBeauty Remedies – every ingredient you put on your body is absorbed and processed by your liver.

That last part is worth repeating. Your liver processes not just what you eat, but also what you apply to your skin.
That’s why I formulate our Remedies at Alchemy Code to be pure, wildcrafted, and therapeutic. We believe your skincare should nourish, not burden.
Your liver, your skin, your whole body deserves it.
