Coffee Enemas and Colonics - My non-skincare, skincare ritual…

“So I put what, where?”

The topic of colon hydrotherapy is a fun one, and we don’t talk enough about tissue cleansing through bowel management in our society.

When it comes to clearer, younger looking skin, we can’t forsake the conversation around colon cleansing which is one of our greatest tools for healing and beauty.

I started doing workshops years ago teaching women how to heal the inside terrain, because glowing skin starts long before your Facial Balm ever touches your face. The liver and the bowels are responsible for eliminating toxins, excess hormones, and metabolic waste. When these pathways become sluggish, the body has no choice but to push as many of those toxins out through the skin as possible, leading to breakouts, dullness, puffiness, and premature aging.

But even more importantly: Coffee enemas trigger your body to produce glutathione.

Glutathione is your master antioxidant — responsible for neutralizing free radicals, repairing cellular damage, reducing systemic inflammation, and supporting radiant skin health. Most people today are depleted, and the daily toxic burden we face quickly outpaces natural glutathione production. Coffee enemas provide a powerful way to stimulate its production directly in the liver.

Here’s what happens when you combine coffee enemas and colonics:

  • Supports the liver’s phase II detox pathways

  • Increases glutathione levels (cellular repair, anti-aging, immune support)

  • Reduces systemic inflammation that contributes to skin breakouts, eczema, rosacea, and premature aging

  • Clears excess circulating hormones like estrogen, easing PMS, bloating, and hormonal acne

  • Supports lymphatic drainage (critical for puffiness, fluid retention, and facial tone)

  • Improves nutrient absorption and gut flora balance

  • Boosts energy, mental clarity, and mood stability

  • Activates parasympathetic (rest and repair) healing state

Your skin is a window. Your colon is a door. If the door is stuck, the window starts to get dirty.

It may not be glamorous, but it’s profoundly effective. In fact, some of the most vibrant women I know have made this a regular part of their internal beauty ritual.

If you’ve been frustrated with stubborn skin issues, plateaued energy, or even mood swings, it may not be your skincare routine that’s the problem, it may be your liver and colon quietly asking for a reset.

Here is the link I share in my Detox Lab, to step by step instructions if you’d like to begin doing enemas from home! Happy to share links to all things coffee enema tools - just reply here if you’d like those as well.

Because true beauty is built.

Coffee Enema Instructions
Used for over a century, coffee enemas are a natural detoxification practice that stimulates the liver and gallbladder to release stored toxins, supporting healthy liver function and enhanced elimination.

How to Prepare the Coffee:

  • Use 2 tablespoons of organic, caffeinated coffee (I use enema-specific coffee) per 1 quart of purified or spring water.

  • Do not use decaf; only regular caffeinated coffee will trigger the detoxifying effect.

  • Brew your coffee using a glass or stainless steel pot. Avoid using aluminum, as it can leach harmful metals during the brewing process.

  • Optional: Add 1 tablespoon of unsulfured blackstrap molasses while the coffee is still hot. This can make it easier to retain the enema, but is not required.

How to Administer the Coffee Enema:

  1. Allow the brewed coffee to cool until it reaches body temperature, warm to the touch, but not hot.

  2. Pour the coffee into your enema bag.

  3. Lie on your left side, and apply a water-based lubricant (I recommend coconut oil) to the enema tip for comfort.

  4. Gently insert the tubing and slowly release about half of the coffee (1 pint if starting with 1 quart). Then clamp the flow.

  5. Breathe deeply and exhale fully. This helps relax the diaphragm, allowing the coffee to reach the entire colon.
