In Bulgaria's famed Rose Valley, nestled between two mountain ranges, the Damask rose flourishes in well-drained soil, nourished by spring rains and cool mountain mornings. For centuries, families have gathered its blossoms by hand during the brief flowering season, collecting them in the early morning before the precious aromatic oils begin to diminish.
And then black castor. A dark oil with an extraordinary history that dates back 4000 years to ancient Egypt. Unlike the delicate rose, castor thrives in warm, sun-drenched landscapes, enduring periods of drought and growing in soils where more delicate plants struggle. The seeds are roasted, ground into a paste, and slowly boiled in water. The dark oil rises to the surface, where it is carefully collected.
Black castor oil brings an extraordinary reserve of naturally occurring fatty acids that help soften the skin and preserve its precious moisture. Rose brings its aromatic compounds and an exquisite aroma, transforming a simple application into a sensory experience only rose can deliver. Together, they create a ritual of youthfulness and rejuvenation.
Our slow infusion
We begin with the whole botanical oil itself. Then, through our slow infusion process, we invite the oil-soluble treasures of other remarkable plants into the preparation.
Rose flower. Linden + elderflower. Schisandra. Fig + hibiscus. Milk thistle seed.
Finally, we unite the infusion with black castor oil, the delicate aroma of rose essential oil, and the deep, honeyed richness of rose absolute and frankincense.
