Did you know that there’s a connection between glowing skin, your digestive system, and the health of your body?
Have you noticed sagging or wrinkles around the eyes? Laxity on the jawline?
You might have even experienced weird skin things popping up, little cherry red moles (possible liver congestion), other growths, and spots…
Our skin is both a window and a wall, and we can’t talk about skincare without discussing our internal terrain, any more than we talk about our internal terrain without discussing our skincare.
It’s all connected.
Natural remedies not only work with your body to promote its own beauty process, but they also target areas of your skin and body that need support.
I call this nature's intelligence.
I am going to share three herbal remedies that will help you begin detoxifying your body - inside out and outside in.
-
Start eating more apples. Did you know that apples are considered an herb in herbal medicine? There is no greater blood purifier than the common apple. Be sure to buy organic or farm-fresh if possible. The old adage, “An apple a day keeps the doctor away,” has not lost its substance of truth. If you really want to go to town, you can start juicing apples. Very important to drink it raw, and freshly pressed. Not pasteurized, prepackaged juice.
-
Add ⅓ of a tsp. cayenne pepper to your water in the morning. Cayenne pepper is a miracle herb that acts a blood mover in the body. It is a stimulant. Remember that congestion and stagnation are the culprit of all disease.
-
Begin oil cleansing with an herbal oil cleanser as the first step in your nightly skincare ritual. If you’ve never oil-cleansed, you are in for a real treat. You’ll apply it generously to dry skin, massage for a good 60 seconds, especially around the eye area if you have eye makeup on. Once you’ve massaged the oil to dry skin, your next step is to wash with a soft cloth and water and your cleanser of choice.
If you don’t have an oil cleanser, definitely check out our Black Gold Oil Cleanser is cold-infused with two key herbs: Burdock root, which helps to deeply purify and decongest the skin (when burdock root is consumed in a tea it is also a blood purifier… great for acne). And cold-infused Blackberry Leaf.
The following is what we call Herbal Actions in herbalism… these are the medicinal and remedial actions of an herb, and when applied to the body, they are transformational.
